I am a vegetarian by choice and would continue to be one to the end of my days because I strongly believe that the modern diet that relies heavily on meat and animal products is wasteful of the earth’s resources. In this article I would like to discuss in brief some of the wastages that we indulge in when we eat meat. In the later posts I’ll take up each of these in greater detail.

I firmly believe that by becoming a vegetarian you can contribute to the preservation of scarce resources
Continue reading...

The other day when I was telling a friend of mine about this blog and asked him to have a look at it, he asked me what the blog was all about.

“What do you mean by Vegetarian By Choice?”

I also realized that his question was both from an interested party’s point of view as well as that of a marketing professional who wanted to understand the rationale behind the blog from the consumer (reader) point of view.

So let me try and clarify what the blog
Continue reading...

The previous post “God Made Us Vegetarians, We Made Ourselves Meat Eaters” evoked a fair amount of reaction from the people who read it. I had also submitted it to one of the groups that I am a member of on LinkedIn and the reaction was quite extreme. Unfortunately for me the number who seemed to agree with my point of view were far less than the ones that disagreed wholeheartedly with what I had to state.

Majority of the opposing comments received on this site and on LinkedIn, have been general in
Continue reading...

So far, I have been writing about what I feel are the negative reasons for being a vegetarian. I wrote about the following negative reasons to be a vegetarian:
Being a vegetarian because you love a vegetarian. Being a vegetarian because you think that being a vegetarian is more healthy, Being a vegetarian because of religious reasons, and finally Being a vegetarian because it is not right to take the life of an animal for food!
Yes, in my opinion all of these are negative, invalid, non-defendable reasons to be a vegetarian.

That is right. God told me the following three things:
He made human beings as vegetarians. Unfortunately, the human race became too intelligent for its own good and turned into meat eaters. Eventually, this more than necessary intelligence is what will one day bring about the downfall of the infallible and arrogant homo sapiens.
I asked Him how He can say so surely that He made us as vegetarians. After all it was a few hundred thousand years ago that He created humans. I am sure He did not keep record of
Continue reading...
