The other day when I was telling a friend of mine about this blog and asked him to have a look at it, he asked me what the blog was all about.
“What do you mean by Vegetarian By Choice?”
I also realized that his question was both from an interested party’s point of view as well as that of a marketing professional who wanted to understand the rationale behind the blog from the consumer (reader) point of view.
So let me try and clarify what the blog is about.

The previous post “God Made Us Vegetarians, We Made Ourselves Meat Eaters” evoked a fair amount of reaction from the people who read it. I had also submitted it to one of the groups that I am a member of on LinkedIn and the reaction was quite extreme. Unfortunately for me the number who seemed to agree with my point of view were far less than the ones that disagreed wholeheartedly with what I had to state.
Majority of the opposing comments received on this site and on LinkedIn, have been general in nature, such

So far, I have been writing about what I feel are the negative reasons for being a vegetarian. I wrote about the following negative reasons to be a vegetarian:
Being a vegetarian because you love a vegetarian. Being a vegetarian because you think that being a vegetarian is more healthy, Being a vegetarian because of religious reasons, and finally Being a vegetarian because it is not right to take the life of an animal for food!
Yes, in my opinion all of these are negative, invalid, non-defendable reasons to be a vegetarian.

That is right. God told me the following three things:
He made human beings as vegetarians. Unfortunately, the human race became too intelligent for its own good and turned into meat eaters. Eventually, this more than necessary intelligence is what will one day bring about the downfall of the infallible and arrogant homo sapiens.
I asked Him how He can say so surely that He made us as vegetarians. After all it was a few hundred thousand years ago that He created humans. I am sure He did not keep record of the design

While all vegetarians and vegans agree that plants too have life and therefore they are taking away life when they eat vegetables, they justify it by saying that “plants do not feel pain as they do not have a Central Nervous System, pain sensors or emotional relationships like animals and hence it is all right to kill them.”
I am a vegetarian and yet that is not my philosophy or conviction. I believe that the above argument that we vegetarians give is weak. If we do not give the above as justification for killing

So said George Bernard Shaw when asked why he was a vegetarian.
From a quotable quote or literary standpoint it is an excellent statement and the widespread use of this quote is testimony to its quote worthiness. However, as an argument it is highly debatable. And I for one do not agree with Mr. Shaw.
The Webster dictionary defines “friend” as a person whom one knows well and is fond of, an ally, supporter or sympathizer. One of the primary qualities of a friend is that he is your well wisher and

Most vegetarians look down upon meat eaters because they believe that you should not take life to sustain yours. And when faced with the realization that they also kill plants for food, the justification given is that killing a plant is not the same as killing an animal.
Ask them why? And the two main reasons given are:
All life is not equal and the value of each species of life is different. The reason for this conclusion is that we humans have a special place in the universe. Another argument is that if
